Healthcare Shares PBC is an early-stage, physician-backed healthcare venture capital firm that invests in social impact healthcare startups. We operate a venture capital fund, a venture studio, a marketing agency, and a free online community for healthcare entrepreneurship. Healthcare Shares is building an ecosystem designed to support healthcare founders, clinicians, investors, operators, and industry leaders who want to help transform healthcare. Through our venture capital fund, we invest in promising healthcare startups. Through our venture studio, we help launch and support new healthcare companies. Through our marketing agency, we help healthcare startups grow their visibility, credibility, and market presence. Through our free online community, we provide education, resources, and connections for people interested in healthcare innovation, healthcare investing, and entrepreneurship.

Healthcare Shares is seeking accomplished healthcare leaders, physicians, executives, investors, founders, operators, and subject matter experts to serve as Board Members. This role is designed for individuals who can provide high-level strategic perspective, governance-minded guidance, and meaningful industry insight as Healthcare Shares continues to grow its venture capital, venture studio, agency, and healthcare entrepreneurship community.

As a Board Member, you will help guide the direction of Healthcare Shares by advising on strategic priorities, market opportunities, ecosystem growth, partnerships, investment themes, and founder support. This is a flexible, remote opportunity for leaders who are passionate about advancing healthcare innovation and helping build a mission-driven platform at the intersection of healthcare, venture capital, entrepreneurship, and social impact.

\n

• Provide strategic guidance on Healthcare Shares’ growth, positioning, partnerships, investment focus, and long-term vision.

\n

\n

• Advise on healthcare market trends, emerging opportunities, startup evaluation, founder support, and social impact strategy.

\n

\n

• Contribute leadership insight across areas such as clinical care, healthcare operations, digital health, biotech, medical devices, pharma, payer/provider strategy, healthcare AI, investing, or entrepreneurship.

\n

\n

• Support Healthcare Shares by offering relevant introductions, perspective, and expertise to strengthen the firm’s ecosystem and portfolio support.

\n

\n

• Participate in periodic board-related discussions and contribute thoughtful recommendations based on your professional background and area of expertise.

\n

\n

\n

• Significant experience in healthcare, medicine, life sciences, venture capital, startups, healthcare operations, digital health, medical devices, biotech, pharma, healthcare AI, or related fields.

\n

\n

• Senior leadership, board, advisory, investing, entrepreneurial, clinical, executive, or operating experience preferred.

\n

\n

• Strong professional network within healthcare, investment, startup, clinical, hospital, payer, provider, pharma, biotech, health technology, or innovation ecosystems.

\n

\n

• Ability to provide strategic, practical, and mission-aligned guidance to support healthcare startups and the broader Healthcare Shares platform.

\n

\n

• Ability to commit approximately 2–4 hours per month to board participation and strategic advisory activities.

\n

This Board Member role offers the opportunity to receive carried interest in the Healthcare Shares venture capital fund. Board Members may also have opportunities to support Healthcare Shares venture studio companies and startup clients, including potential sweat equity opportunities when applicable.
