Full Stack Developer (Backend Focus)

• Location: Remote - Must be located in the US
• Client: Major Investment Firm
• C2C and W2 are acceptable
• Duration: 12 months plus

About the Role

• Join a major investment firm as a Full Stack Developer with a stronger focus on backend development
• Build high-quality applications in collaboration with cross-functional teams and business partners

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience with Java-related technologies on Unix or Linux
• 5+ years of experience with backend technologies including JBoss, Spring Boot, and REST
• 3+ years of experience with client-side technologies including React, JavaScript, JSON, and REST
• Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

Technical Skills

• Programming Languages: Python, Java, JavaScript
• Java Services: Spring CLI, Maven, microservices, multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing
• Core Concepts: Distributed systems, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and design methodology
• Frameworks: Spring Boot, Node.js, MEAN / MERN stack
• Data Stores: Relational and non-relational data structures, MongoDB, BPM tools
• Data Streaming: AWS SQS, Kinesis

Knowledge and Understanding

• API consumption and development; service-oriented architecture (SOA) patterns
• Web service technologies: REST, JSON, SOAP, XML, JDBC, MySQL
• Unit, interface, and end-user testing concepts and tooling (functional and non-functional)
• Automated testing, Agile methodologies, and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Accessibility awareness
• Secure coding, web application security, and DevSecOps
• Security concepts: authentication, authorization, encryption, digital signatures, JWT, SSL, web service proxies, firewalls, SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0
• DevOps tools and practices: branching strategies, GitHub, Bitbucket, Subversion, Jenkins
• SDLC monitoring and logging techniques
• AWS core services including CloudWatch and CodeDeploy
