Pediatric Gastroenterology Job Details

• Duration: Approximately 13 weeks, with ongoing monthly coverage needs
• Schedule: Minimum of one week per month, Monday through Sunday; preference for providers available two or more weeks per month
• Practice Setting: Outpatient pediatric multispecialty clinic with inpatient pediatric gastroenterology consultation coverage as needed
• Call: Daily call coverage while scheduled, from 8:00 a.m. through 8:00 a.m. the following day

Pediatric Gastroenterologist Job Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Clinical proficiency with pediatric upper endoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, and foreign body procedures
• Availability to provide the required monthly coverage schedule and daily call responsibilities

Pediatric Gastroenterology Physician Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat new and returning pediatric gastroenterology patients in the outpatient clinic
• Perform pediatric upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and foreign body procedures as clinically indicated
• Provide inpatient pediatric gastroenterology consultations when requested
• Develop appropriate evaluation and treatment plans for pediatric patients
• Respond to patient questions, inbox messages, and clinical communications
• Review diagnostic results and communicate findings and recommendations to the care team
• Provide clinical oversight and support to advanced practice providers in the outpatient setting
• Participate in daily call coverage during scheduled service periods
• Collaborate with pediatric hospitalists and the broader care team; primary admitting responsibilities are not required
